Gore Launches Searing Attack on Bush 7

I have never really been a fan of Al Gore the politician. Though a Democratic, his views on many issues are a little too narrow-minded for my taste. Since his departure from what I guess I would call “mainstream politics” I have learned to like him. Much of what he says makes a lot of sense and the manner in which he presents his point of view is both intelligent, mesmerizing and entertaining. The manner in which the man presents his arguments makes it easy to stomach his agenda and rhetoric.

I ran across an interesting article at ABC News earlier, which basically proudly proclaims that Gore launches a searing attack on Bush. It is not often that Gore breaks out in to an assault like this. After all, this is the man that quietly bowed down to Bush in 2000, even though Dubya supposedly stole the election due to the multitude of issues in Florida. Here is one of my favorite quotes from the article:

But in the book Gore sheds his inner Marshall McLuhan for his inner Michael Moore, saying that if “Bush and Cheney actually believed in the linkage (between Iraq and al Qaeda) that they asserted — in spite of all the evidence to the contrary presented to them contemporaneously — that would by itself in light of the available evidence, make them genuinely unfit to lead our nation. On the other hand, if they knew the truth and lied, massively and repeatedly, isn’t that worse? Are they too gullible or too dishonest?”

Why do I bring this particular article up at this specific moment in time? Mainly because the quote is one of the truly intelligent statements made about the war in Iraq. Where are our media outlets and why are they not plastering this intelligence across the nation? The country needs someone to start igniting fires under every fat, fast-food eating American’s ass and energize the people with educated analysis of the war. That is, opposed to the garbage and blatantly common-sense ignoring rhetoric that spews out of the mouths of entertaining morons and idiots like Bill O’Reilly.

It is about time that America take back its future. We need to pry our lives from the stranglehold that politicians have on our every move. Why we blindly follow leaders that are incapable and unfit to lead is simply beyond reason. It is time that the President of the United States be someone that the populace wants to occupy the White House rather than the lesser of two evils.

Of course, I am preaching to the choir. We all know that American’s are too fscking lazy to get off their fat asses to actually make conscious decisions about the future of the country. That American’s would rather bitch and moan about the horrible state of affairs. That American’s would rather watch the pundits decry why we needed XYZ than hold our politicians accountable.

Does anyone truly believe that the next President of the United States is going to be someone that we want in the Oval Office? I doubt it; we will just have to ensure another 4 years of bullshit and rhetoric and hope for the best. Only in another life will America be the country that our forefathers had hoped her to be.

Fiance of Slain Yokosuka Woman Believes Money Brings Back Deceased 4

The tragic murder of a Yokosuka resident in late 2005 rocked the small Japanese city that is the home port for United States Navy ships that are forward deployed to Japan. The deplorable act did not go unpunished as a US Navy sailor confessed and was subsequently convicted for the brutal slaying of 56 year old Yoshie Sato. As unfortunate and horrifying that the murder was, there is nothing in this world that will bring the deceased back to life.

In a seemingly bizarre move, the fiance of the deceased Yokosuka woman filed a $1.6 million lawsuit against a host of defendants. Masanori Yamazaki and Sato’s two sons are under a peculiar spell that would have one believe that money will somehow heal pain and bring the deceased back to life. Those directly named in the lawsuit are the Government of Japan and William Oliver Reese, the convicted USS Kitty Hawk sailor who is serving life for his despicable crime.

“By seeking responsibility of the Japanese government and the U.S. Forces, I hope it will help solve base and U.S.-Japan security treaty issues,” said Yamazaki.

He also said he hopes his lawsuit can help prevent a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier from being based at Yokosuka Naval Base. The USS George Washington is to replace the USS Kitty Hawk at Yokosuka in 2008.

Though the lawsuit was filed under the guise of “wrongful death,” it appears that Yamazaki is more interested in stopping the United States Navy from maintaining a presence in Yokosuka than anything. He uses the death of his fiance as a platform for reform, which would be commendable if he were attempting to do something truly worthwhile. Ultimately, the move appears to be more of a mere publicity stunt, aimed at trying to get more awareness of the pending Kitty Hawk replacement.

During the court hearing on the lawsuit, Japanese government officials submitted a written response to the plaintiffs’ claim that the U.S. Navy could have prevented Sato’s killing.

“The incident was committed by Reese in a situation that was irrelevant to his duties and is not normally subject to the supervision of his supervisor,” the response said.

It also stated that evidence to support the plaintiffs’ claims are consistently “abstract” and do not make sense.

I completely sympathize with Yamazaki-san. He lost a dear and close friend, his fiance, by way of a brutal murder. The man is understandably angry and probably houses vengeful thoughts. However, filing this lawsuit and wasting the time and money necessary to see the lawsuit through are completely not worthwhile at all; it is doubtful that his fiance would expect this.

No matter what happens, Sato-san is not going to rise from her grave and return to Yamazaki-san’s open arms upon receipt of a $1.6 million judgment in his favor, if the court were even to accept such a far-fetched, bogus claim. As I said, I feel for the man and sympathize with his position.

It is time for Yamazaki-san and his family to move on and remember Sato-san as the great woman that she was. The murderer is behind Japanese bars and will be going nowhere anytime soon. No need to prolong the pain now that the most important chapters of the book have been written.

Move on. Let Sato-san rest in peace, just as she would have wanted.

eBay Scammer 0wned by Judge Judy 12

Judge Judge completely 0wns an eBay scammer who claims that she was selling, get this, a picture of a mobile phone for $250+ and that the mother and daughter combination that won the auction are incapable of reading. It is nice to see Judge Judy simply lambaste this lady who so obviously lacks any morals whatsoever. I generally do not care for Judge Judy and her almost always uncalled for tirades. In this instance she was completely in the right for going after this walking piece of human slime. (via)

Happy Mothers Day 3

Happy Mothers Day! Regardless of what you might think I really do appreciate everything that you have done for me as well as my family. Just know that I truly love you and are grateful for your hand in molding how and where I am today.

Like a lot of things in life, being a parent is a mostly thankless job throughout the early years. Children have no true understanding of the situation we are in and believe that their point of view is the only one. This is what leads to their lack of appreciation for all that parents do. So let me take this opportunity to thank all the Mom’s that are selflessly doing their “jobs” each and every day. Thank you for all you have done and will do in the future.

I hope that everyone had a great Mothers Day. Maybe some champagne brunch is all you need to have a brighter day.

Rice Rejects Subpoena 8

In a bizarre move that would land any average citizen in jail, Secretary of State Condoleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezza Rice rejected a subpoena from California Representative Henry Waxman. The subpoena is supposed to compel her to testify but apparently Connie believes that she is above the law.

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in Norway on Thursday appears to have rejected Rep. Henry Waxman’s (D-CA) subpoena compelling her to testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on the intelligence used to build the case for the Iraq war, according to the Associated Press.

At a press briefing in Oslo, according to the AP’s Matthew Lee, Rice took the opportunity to state directly for the first time that she didn’t see her testimony as necessary.

“I think I have more than answered these questions, and answered them directly to Congressman Waxman,” she told reporters.

I’m sorry Mr. Policeman, I believe that I have more than answered the questions about these questions, and even answered them directly to my neighbors dog Rex.

As far as I understand United States law, and I am the United States Secretary of State mind you, even though you have delivered me a subpoena that apparently has compelled me to testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, I think I will respectfully decline to appear at your inquiry.

That, and piss off Rep. Waxman. Can’t you see that POTUS has me fairly busy and that I do not have time to account for my actions in a suspected illegal plot to deceive the idiotic American public?

Did I mention that I would like for you to piss off Rep. Waxman? Oh, I failed to mention that?

Sorry.

Piss off!

The American public allows this type of shit to occur completely unchecked, yet we wonder why our government is so fscked up?
