Adobe Lightroom Beta 3 for Windows

Adobe Lightroom Beta 3
Following in the footsteps of the previous Mac-only versions, Adobe has finally released Lightroom beta 3 for Windows. I have been processing all my photos with the Lightroom beta’s for OSX, so this is great news for those on Windows who are interested in toying around with this excellent Aperature-like software tool.

Project: Lightroom™ is Adobe’s effort to engage the professional photography community in a new way, giving you the opportunity to kick the tires and shape the feature set of a new tool being created just for you. Ultimately, we want Lightroom to be truly built from the ground up by photographers, for photographers, helping solve your unique workflow challenges.

It truly is a great tool that solves many problems with existing software used for processing photography. I have been stunned by the differences between photography processed in a variety of applications, so it is safe to say that it is important to select the right tool.

Give this baby a try and see how well it works out for you. It might be a little slow and cumbersome, but remembering that this is beta software should remind you that this is to be expected.

it would be nice to have software which can compare to photoshop without all the useless filters. i hope it has elaborate RAW editing.

This looks like a love child of Adobe Bridge and Photoshop. I might give it a try, but only when I get my new laptop! :D

It looks good…I will check it out in more depth.

NIkon NX is a fairly new photography processor. http://nikonimaging.com/global/news/2006/0221_05.htm

The windows lightroom beta is a major disappointment. Inconsistent interface, bad UI implementation in parts, changes in nomenclature, inconsistent with expecatations from how features work in other products (it’s confusion not innovation) and why have things like HSL Tuning when you can’t even correct pin-cushioning and barrelling.

It’s all tarts nickers and no real substance.
