As useful as it might be, I’ve been recommending people not use Google desktop.
It can be a resource hog, even in some newer systems. Basically, it’s a second indexing service (Microsoft already has one built into Windows). I’ve seen systems run REALLY slow with it on…turning it off resolves a LOT of problems.
