skinning

been doing some skin porting lately. got this “fever” for skinning for some reason. i’ve started with hoverweather but am actively working on hoverdesk and trillian. we shall see how it turns out.

feeling like blah

the idiots that rent the house that we are living in decided that they wanted to have the house freshly painted while we still live in the damn thing! because of this, for the past week there have been painters and other morons lingering outside the house from the wee early morning hours until well after dark.

once these jackasses finally painted the house the scent of fresh paint was so strong that it was almost sickening. to top it off they had every window in the house sealed so that the smell would not leak in, therefore invalidating the possibility to open the windows to get airflow in order to remove the stench.

the first night we slept in this odor everyone was fine. the very next day my throat hurt like it was rubbed raw with a razorblade and i started to develop a cold. the same thing is happening to junko and anthony. today, along with the running nose, stuffy head and sore throat i have an aching body. what the fuck is wrong with these idiots? is the painting of the house of such importance that it could not wait until we move out of this godforsaken place?

on a brighter note, we went to the bank and spoke with some of the folks there yesterday. it would appear that based on the salary that i earn from my career that we should be able to get a loan. of course nothing is guaranteed yet. the main issue, however, is that i need something that says that i will be in japan for “a long time,” meaning that i will be here long enough to make the mortgage payments. tuesday i have an appointment with a japanese lawyer who can speak english so we’ll see what we can do.

an unexpected turn of events

for the past few weeks me and the wife have been looking at various new houses all around our local area. we saw one place a couple weeks ago that was atop a mountain and had a semi-decent view of the ocean. it is a corner house on a very low traffic street. overall, the floor plan and design as well as the area is quite nice. i won’t say that we fell in love with the house but we were extremely pleased with its offerings.

fast forward to this past sunday. we setup an appointment with a local Century 21 real estate agent so that he can show us some houses that they are handling. we drove all over the place and saw plots of land with houses just beginning construction and saw a few relatively small sized houses as well.

as we are driving to a convenience store so that we can get something to drink we run through this housing area. this place is not like the normal japanese “suburb,” so to speak. it’s more american style, with large roads, decent sized yards and nice houses. it is an area that they are still building up.

we look at about 10 houses in this area and probably 10 plots of land. after talking things over with the agent we come to the conclusion that purchasing a plot of land and then custom building our house would be the best option.

so, as if out of nowhere, we are now in discussions to purchase a plot of land and have a custom built house. today we spoke with the real estate agent a little more and then spoke with a really good architect and builder. he came up with a nifty design for a house, that he brought with him, which we liked. though, after speaking with him for a couple hours he decided that he will come up with 3 more plans based on our input and then we will go from there.

odd turn of events considering that purchasing a home at this point in time was not something that we thought we were ready to do. time will tell.

about the only stumbling block in the way of us being able to purchase a house is that it is quite hard for gaijin’s, aka foreigners, to get home loans in japan.

is there nothing better to do with your time than waste it on incessant bitching and moaning? do you honestly believe that a privately run website is going to change simply because you want us to? we’ve gotten this far making the right decisions, after weighing the pros and cons of both sides, yet you continue to bitch …
… about change.

i honestly do not know what to say now. i might as well up and quit working here. i certainly would have a less stressful environment because i would not have to deal with all the ungrateful bastards that use, and abuse, this site and do not give back anything and merely come here bitch …

if you have to bitch …

Tis The Season …

We are working on so many new things, which will be released within the coming days, that everyone will be really surprised I think. We hope to take advantage of the holiday season that is upon us and offer all deviants the ability to purchase …

deviator 0.20 is progressing along nicely. My main coding tasks, lately, have been deviantART oriented therefore I have not done too much work on deviator but expect the 0.20 release within 1, possibly 2, weeks. It all depends on exactly what transpires over the course of the coming weeks.

For those who are on my deviantWatch, please bare with me. I will definitely be commenting on your deviation submissions as soon as time permits.

Peace, love and happiness to, and for, all.
