I’ll be leaving in a couple hours to go camping up in Lake Kawaguchiko again. Different campground this time around although the same general area. Hope to get some more pictures taken and see more sites. Just another relaxing weekend away from the real world…

Site Updates
Took some time today to do some much needed cleaning up on the site as far as coding is concerned. Here is a list of some of the things that happened:
Thumbnails in the deviantWatch area now correctly displays the title of the deviation as the alt tag.
Thumbnails in the “recent deviations” and “recent favorites” area now display the correct deviation title as the alt tag.
The deviation count for each deviant has been corrected and updated. If you’ve noticed issues with your deviantWatch then I suggest you read this forum post: [link]
Deletion of a deviation will now correctly decrement the deviation counter.
Updated the amount of characters that a Note subject may utilize.
Other little miscellaneous tidbits of code…
Site Improvements
Added the ability to see a complete list of all deviants that are watching you (finally).
Added the ability to see a deviants recent interaction on the site. Rather than add this information back to each users main user page it was implemented on a completely seperate page of its own. This should alleviate all server issues seeing as the interaction page will surely not be as popular as the main user page.
Added “recent journal comments” to the interaction page.
Added a counter for policy violations. If one violates a policy then everyone will be able to see the total number of violations issued, as well as the date of the last violation, on that deviants user page.

I am sure that there are more things that I have added and improved upon but this is all that I can think of at this point!

Yesterday, August 23rd, 2002 (for me anyhow), was my sons birthday. The little guy is now eight years old. Hard to believe that he is as old as he is, really. It is amazing how time flies when one has kids!
We celebrated his birthday by heading out to his favorite restaurant: The Red Lobster. He loves the salad bar there and loves to eat real, fresh, Crab. I had some tasty little Lobster meal along with some New England Clam Chowder. It was fun for all three of us.
All in all it was a nice night out and a good celebration of his eight years of life.
…now, we will see if I allow him to see his ninth birthday!…
I’m back from my little 2 and half day trip. I’ll be slowly posting pictures from the trip each day. Had a blast!

Well, I am off on a small trip with my family. Will not be around until about 48 hours from the time that this journal will be posted. We are heading off to a new theme park in Tokyo, Japan, called DisneySea. It is a DisneyLand like park but more geared towards water themed adventures and rides. Should make for the perfect little summer getaway. Hopefully I will not get arrested this time around!
While we are up there we will be staying at the Hilton Tokyo Bay for two nights. Figured that we would go up to the hotel today and check in. Spend the first night relaxing. Then we will hit the theme park the following day, after being well rested, right as it opens! This way we can hit the good rides and get a “FastPass” for something else. I wonder if this hotel will have a web terminal or not?
Anyhow, good luck to the site while I am gone. Hopefully nothing crazy happens. If you need to get me a note, for whatever reason, then feel free to email my cell phone and I will respond. Realize, however, that I will not be able to do much!

The AOL Guy
It would appear that the saga of The AOL Guy has come to and end. Turns out it was ~stumpy who is now acting as ~stevenfranks. Nice to see that this was able to come to an amicable close. It is over, done with and gone.
I urge everyone to leave him alone. No need to stoop to the levels that he stooped to in order to admonish him. He feels bad enough as it is so lets leave things as they lay….
